Though my visits to the UAE, Qatar, and Turkey were often punctuated by onward travel to the heart of Central Asia, the indelible marks left by these lands continue to inspire.
The United Arab Emirates, a land where ambition pierces the sky, offered a glimpse into a future forged from the desert sands. Standing before the majestic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest structure, evoked a sense of human ingenuity and boundless aspiration. The sleek, modern architecture of Dubai, epitomized by the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab, spoke of a nation that dared to dream big and achieve even bigger. My brief transits through Qatar and Turkey, while primarily logistical, offered fleeting yet intriguing glimpses into their distinct characters.
